Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
The short version
We built Liberty Translator to fight surveillance culture, not contribute to it. We collect the minimum data needed to make the product work. We don't sell your data. We don't track your browsing. We don't run analytics scripts.
What we collect
When you use the extension (free tier)
- The text you highlight and submit for fact-checking. We process it, return a result, and don't store it.
- Euphemism translations happen entirely in your browser. No data is sent to our servers for this feature.
When you create an account (Pro tier)
- Email address (for account management and receipts)
- Payment information is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage counts (how many fact-checks you've run today) for rate limiting
What we don't collect
- Browsing history or URLs you visit
- Cookies for tracking or advertising
- Device fingerprints
- Any data from pages you don't explicitly submit
- Third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar, nothing)
Data retention
Fact-check results are cached for up to 7 days to speed up repeat queries and reduce API costs. Cached results are keyed by a hash of the text, not associated with your identity. After 7 days, they're automatically deleted.
Third parties
- Lemon Squeezy processes payments. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Brave Search powers our fact-check source retrieval. We send search queries derived from your submitted text. Brave does not receive your identity.
- Fly.io hosts our infrastructure. Standard hosting provider.
That's the complete list. No ad networks. No data brokers. No "trusted partners."
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. If you have questions, use the contact form.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. For material changes, we'll notify Pro users by email.
